NEW SUPPLY SCHEME REPLACING TRAWLERS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 17. j In order to meet the probable rej duction in supplies of British-caught i fish caused by the demands of the Admiralty on fishing vessels, numbers of which are being armed and used to counter the German attacks on merchant shipping, a comprehensive plan has been devised for augmenting supplies Of frozen fish from Iceland. The fish are caught in northern ! waters, and filleted, graded and frozen on the Iceland coast. The plan envisages a great expansion of supplies of frozen fish from Norway. Canada, and Newfoundland. This plan, which the sponSoTs claim will .ensure sufficient fish for the whole of the British demand, lias been submitted to the Government Food Department.
