STRAITS SETTLEMENT CAUSE OF FREEDOM (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 16. The' Colonial Office has received a message from the Legislative Council of Straits Settlement, which to-day held its first meeting since the outbreak of war, expressing the loyalty of the colony to the King and its fixed determination to uphold the sacred cause of freedom and justice.
