BROWN, EWING RESULTS
LOWER NET PROFIT A net profit of £1320. against £2025 last year, i.- reported by Brown, Ewing and Company, Limited, Dunedin, drapers, for the year ended August 15. The directors recommend that no ordinary dividend should be paid this year. Gross profit shows a small-in-crease. Much higher land and income tax v id also social security tax have lad to be provided for. as well as full allowances for depreciation, while while many improvements had to be made to the store, all of which it was considered wi"e to make a charge on revenue. The usual dividend of 5 per cent cn preference shares will be paid, after which there will be £399 to be carried forward. Last year ordinary ;hareladders received 4 per cent.
