EMPIRE ARSENAL

INDEPENDENT UNIT AUSTRALIA’S PART BIG WAR-PLANE OUTPUT ARMAMENT "ANNEXES” (Eke. Tnl. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 16. Prominence is given in Melbourne to a report by Mr. R. G. Casey, Commonwealth Treasurer, who declared that by the end of the year 21 armament “annexes” will be operating in Australia, and the output of planes will soon be great enough to equip and complete a squadron every three weeks. “Australia will become an Empire arsenal, practically independent of outside sources for arms and munitions and of raw materials for making them,” he said.
