TURF CLUB TROPHIES SIX TO BE WON ACCEPTANCES TO-NIGHT By “Trenton” The Poverty Bay Turf Club must have estiblished something in the nature of a record this year so far as trophies are concerned. No fewer than six trophies are to be won during the two days. Their total value is £75, excluding that donated by the president for the winner of the Roseland Hack Handicap. The club is indebted to Messrs. R. W. Coop, E. Loisel, F. Tolerton, T. Utting, R. J. Kerridge and John Dewar and Sons for the six trophies. Turf Club Acceptances Acceptances for all events on the first day of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s meeting close at 8 o’clock tonight with the secretary, G. H. Sceals, and will appear in the early edition of the Herald to-morrow. To Start Laler An innovation at the Turf Club's meeting this week will be ’the starting time of the first race. Previously many townspeople found it difficult to reach the course after finishing work at midday on Saturday. At this meeting the first race will not start until 12.45 p.m. each day.
