A DRAWN CONTEST

EMPIRE WRESTLING BOUT MCCREADY V. BLOMFIELD (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The British Empire champion, Earl McCready, Canada, retained his title in a professional heavyweight wrestling match with "Lofty” Blomfield on Saturday night. The challenger held him to a draw, neither managing to take a fall. The bout was comparatively placid. It afforded an exhibition of clean, orthodox malcraft rarely interrupted by rough play or spectacular incidents. Infringements were unusually rare and the referee was seldom called on to intervene. The Town Hall was packed, many standing. The crowd, which included many uniformed men, gave the protagonists a rousing reception. McCready weighed 17st. and Blomfield 16sl. 81b.
