CRISIS AVERTED
JAPANESE RESIGNATIONS FOREIGN OFFICE STAFF (Reed. Oct. 14. Noon.) NEW YORK, Oct. 13. The Tokio correspondent of the Associated Press of America says that the Cabinet crisis appeared to have been averted when the spokesman for 150 of those who had resigned from the Foreign Office announced the withdrawal of their resignations. The Government is agreeing to respect their wishes in a “compromise” plan for the creation of a new Trade Ministry. The Tokio correspondent of the United Press of America says that the resignations of the Foreign Office officials were not accepted. Efforts are being continued to induce, the acceptance of a modified plan whereby the appointment of commercial attaches will be retained in the Foreign Office.
The Prime Minister, General Abe is holding Mr. Tani, vice-foreign Minister, blameless and is not accepting his resignation.
A Parliamentary mission of eight, led by Mr. Hyogoro Sakurai, a member of the Minsetto Party, is arriving in Bangkok on October 29, and is afterwards going to Singapore in an effort to obtain trade expansion.
