TRAIN DERAILMENT
CAUSE STILL UNKNOWN CURIOUS FEATURES (Por Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Officials of the Railways Department were still unable last night to give any indication of the cause Of the derailment of portion of a long rake of trucks of a goods train south of Dunedin. “ The train included one passenger coach, but this was being brought back to Dunedin from the south, and no passengers were carried. A curious feature of the derailment is that the first few vehicles, three trucks in the middle of the rake and the last three vehicles, remained on the track undamaged, while those between bore the brunt of the shock.
