MILITARY CAMPS

“WET” CANTEENS UPHELD AUCKLAND ANGLICANS (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The provision of “wet” canteens in military camps of the Special Military Force received the support of the Anglican diocesan synod at its sitting yesterday. After considerable discussion, the synod passed a motion stating that it was preferable to have “wet” canteens in camps, where they could be under control. An amendment that no pronouncement should be made on the subject was defeated by a large majority.
