QUEEN CARNIVAL

WIND-UP FUNCTION CABARET DANCE The four candidates in the Gisborne Thirty-Thousand Club’s centenary queen carnival, Misses N. Henderson, W. Tureia, P. Oakden and P. Lange, are to be the guests of honour at a cabaret dance to be held in Le Grand Cafe next Wednesday. The dance has been arranged as a wind-up function to the recent queen carnival campaign and in place of a crowning ceremony presentations will lie made to each of the four candidates. A decision to hold this function was made by the Thirty-Thousand Club on Tuesday and arrangements for the fixture were completed last evening. Tickets for the dance are obtainable from members of the various carnival committees.
