VIEW OF LABOUR PEER BOMBING OF CITIES SHOULD HITLER START POSSIBILITIES UNKNOWN: (Reed. Oct. 13, Noon.) NEW YORK.-Oct'. 12. Lord Ma.rley, the Chief Opposition Whip in the British House of Lords, who arrived at New York to-day, said in an interview that Britain would bomb German industrial centres only if the Reich air force attacked London. “We have too great respect for human lives to start bombing, but if Herr Hitler starts we will have to go on.” he said “You see, nobody yet knows the possibilities of aerial warfare and I think both sides are hesitating to commence. “There is a possibility that we may have a limited kind of war, just using the armies.”
