CRICKET ON SUNDAYS

WANGANUI DECISION . Following a discussion at a meeting of the Wanganui Cricket Association, it was decided to apply to the Wanganui City Council for the use of Cook's Gardens for friendly cricket matches on Sundays. The chairman, Mr. R, E. Cuthbertson, said he could not understand why more Sunday cricket was not played. He expressed the opinion that cricket on Sundays would be more popular than on Saturdays. It was played on Sundays in Australia, and in some parts of New Zealand, with much success. Mr. M. Kinder said that Sunday cricket would not only foster Ihe game, but raise the standard of play.
