FLOODGATE PROPOSAL TROUT-FISHING ASPECT Aspects of the proposal •to build floodgates afcross the Waikato River near Lake Taupo, with a view vo controlling the level of the lake, thus assuring a constant supply of water ■for the Arapuui hydro-electric works, will be examined next, week by the Minster of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, who intends, to visit Taupo for .that purpose. It is expected the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R Semple, will also visit Taupo at the same time. The possible effect of the proposed work on trout fishing, both in Lake Taupo and in the rivers and streams that flow into it, will receive particular attention from. Mr. Parry.
