Y.M.C.A. JUMBLE SALE
OLD NEWSPAPERS NEEDED i . A jumble sale will be held by the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. at the Y.M.C.A. building; Fitzhcrbert street, at 2 p.m. on Friday. This has been organised as a result of numerous requests for a similar function to the successful jumble sale held last autumn. Although jumble and secondhand book stalls will hold price of place, there also will be a stall for novelties and other articles. Those who have gifts for the stalls are asked to leave them at ' the Y.M.C.A. by 2 p.m. to-morrow, or else ring telephone 1464 and they will be called for. Owing to the war there is an acute shortage of old newspapers in town, and the Ladies’ Auxiliary has been told by a well-known local business that it is prepared to purchase a large amount of old newspapers or weeklies, so if any readers have some they do not need these will be sold to help the funds of the Y.M.C.A. Bundles can be left either at the Y.M.C.A. or else they will be called for. Even after the jumble sale the Y.M.C.A. will be glad to receive bundles of old newspapers.
