HURDLES SUCCESS HAWKE’S BAY RACES HUNTING CAT SCORES BIG “TOTE” INCREASE (Per Press Assoeiafion.) HASTINGS, this day. Tiie Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's autumn meeting was concluded on Saturday in overcast but fine weather. The course was faster than on the first day and the attendance was good. The totalisator handled £11,509 10s, compared with £9544 iast year. The total for the meeting was £19,381. compared with £15,930 10s last year, an increase of £3450 10s. An inquiry was held into interference suffered by Kathbclla in the last race and, as a result, Kathbclla was placed first, with Russian Ballet second. W. J. Broughton, the rider of Russian Baliet, was suspended for one month, the committee adding an unusual rider of commendation to that jockey for the straightforward manner in which he admitted interference.
