RIFLE SHOOTING
TEST FOR MARKSMEN SHOOT AT MANGAPAPA GISBORNE DEFENCE CLUB The second weekly /shoot in the initial handicap series of the Gisborne Defence Rifle Club was held .in the Mangapapa range on Saturday, 10 shots at 500yds. and 10 shots ■ t 600yds. comprising the practice. At the opening range, R. Burson registered the possible of 50, F. J. Jeuue and A. Ford following him with 48 each. At 600yds. conditions were difficult owing to variations of wind and light, and A. Thomas shot well to score 45, the general run of ;cores at this range being well beow that established at 500yds. With a handicap of two points, and a rifle score of 93, R. Burson topped the day’s list with a gross of 95. P. handicap 9, grossed 94, and T. Dolman, also handicap 9, was placed third. Details: —R. Burson, 500yds. 50, 600 yds. 43, (handicap 2), total 95; P.
