SEASON’S OPENING THREE TOWN CLUBS Members of the three town bowling clubs would have welcomed sunshine this afternoon, although they fouled the weather tolerable for the official opening day of the season, which was celebrated on the Gisborne, Kahutia and Poverty'Bay greens by a large muster of players and spectators. Much preparation had been made i for the day, and all three greens : were in beautiful condition, thanks j to auspicious spring weather condii tions and the constant care lavished j upon them in recent weeks, i The arrangements of the respective clubs were co-ordinated so that members of an official party representing the Gisborne-East Coast Bowling Centro could visit each green in tiirn, i the order being Kahutia at 2.30 p.m., j Poverty Bay at 2.45 p.m., and GisI borne at 3 p.m. aEch club executive, ! 100, was represented on the greens I of the others for the .official opening functions.
