PAY SCALE FIXED GREAT WAR BASIS (Reed. Oct. 0, 2.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 6. ( The Australian Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. Menzies, has announced details of the pay and allowances fixed by the War Cabinet for the fighting forces, including the Air Expeditionary Force. In broad principle, the rates arc based on those paid to the Australian Imperial Forces of 1914-1918 —5s a day for service at home and 6s a day for service overseas. Mr. Menzies also' announced that the militia, after the initial training period in camp of 30 days, would again be called up in two equal batches for three months' continuous training.
