FAREWELL PARTY (Ili-ralil CoiTosyiomlont.) A jolly party was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. Lucas recently to bid farewell to Mr. W. Comm, who lias left for Trcntham with the first reinforcements. Toe hostess received her guests attractively attired in brown marocain. The evening was spent in community singing and dancing, after which the host presented the guest of honour with a wallet, together with the best wishes of those present, to which Mr. Goinm suitably replied. The guests present wore Mr. and Mrs. J. Lucas, Mr. and Mrs. W. Morris, Mr. and Mrs. A. Webber, Mr. and Mrs. E. Knight; Misses Williams (4), and H. Graham: Mesdames M. Williams and Hughes; Messrs. G. Gomm, T. Webster, F. Webber, P, Williams, S. Williams, P. McLennan and Leggett Mr. J. Figg. who is an inmate of the Cook Hospital, is progressing satisfactorily.—Mr. G. Gomm lias come to reside in the district. The hall committee has commenced a series of euchre parties, the first of which was held on Thursday evening. At the conclusion of cards a dainty supper was partaken of by those present. The prize-winners were: Ladies. —Mrs. N. Wilton, 1; Miss K. Williams, 2. Gentlemen.—Mr. J.Cudd, 1; Mr. P. McLennan, 2. Those present included Mesdames J. Atkins, M. Williams, G. Croon. N. Wilton, J. Mullooly, J. Lucas, E. Stevens, and Miss K. Williams.
