LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

SEVERAL BILLS PASSED (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Legislative Council met yesterday afternoon when the Land Laws Amendment Bit! was put through all stages and passed after a debate on clause seven which provides for abolishing national endowmens. The Hon. T. A. Han an forced a division on the clause which was retained by 24 votes to four. The Patents Designs and Trade Marks Amendment Bill was put through the remaining stages without debate. The Land and IncomeTax Amendment Bill was read the first time and the second reading was commenced and adjourned. The council adjourned' at 4.50.
