FOOD QUEUES BANNED
BERLIN REGULATION CHECK ON WHISPERING (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 2.3-0 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 1. Reports state that the authorities in Berlin have issued a decree stating 'hat people may not wait in queues, to buy their provisions. Flat-dwellers must give their ration cards to the warden who does the shopping for them.
■This arrangement, besides doing away with the depressing sight _ of food queues, decreases the possibilities of conversation and criticism for which long periods of standing and waiting provide an opportunity.
