NEW COMMANDER
AUSTRALIAN NAVY (Reed. Oct. 3, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 2. The Minister of Defence has announced the appointment of RearAdmiral, J. G. Grace, of the Royal Navy, to succeed Rear-Admiral Custance, who has had bad health for some months, as commander of the Australian Navy. Rear-Admiral Grace who tis 52 years of age, was born near Canberra, and entered the Royal Navy in 1902.
