BRITISH LEADERS
GERMAN VILIFICATION RADIO BROADCASTS LONDON, Sept. 19. German nightly broadcasts in English continue to vilify the Prime Minister of Britain, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, obviously with the intention of eradicating the good impression he created when he visited Germany. The announcer stated that the' First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. Winston Churchill, was “beyond the pale," and added: "He is a murderous brute, who lias been dragged from political obscurity in order to promote frightfulness ’’ Commenting on the appointment of Lord Camrose, chief proprietor and editor-in-chief of the Daily Telegraph, as chief assistant to the Minister of Information, Lord Macmillan, the announcer said: “It is hoped by the appointment of this subordinate liar that more life will be brought into the British propaganda Ministry.”
An indication that the leaflets dropped in Germany from British planes is having some effect, is given by the announcer’s statement: “Britain had better drop bombs, not leaflets, if she seeks to influence the German people.'
