CAPTURED U-BOAT CREWS
ARRIVAL IN BRITAIN SWEDISH SHIP SUNK (Reed. Sept. 29, 2.50 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 28. A considerable number of U-boat prisoners have arrived at an internment camp in the heart of the northern industrial area, states a communique issued by the Ministry of Information. The men looked fit but a trifle haggard. Their average age is about 23.
The Ministry in another communique states that the British flyingboat, which made a forced landing in Icelandic waters on Tuesday, has returned to England. A German radio broadcast announces that the submarine which torpedoed the British aircraft carrier Courageous has arrived at Wilhelmshaven. Grand Admiral Raeder, Chief of the German Naval Staff, gave the commander an iron cross of l he first class and the crew iron crosses of the second class. The Swedish steamer Nyland was torpedoed off the south-west coast of Norway. The crew of 29 were rescued.
