STRONG' DEMAND / The offering of 100 pigs at yesterday’s Matawhero stock sale met with keen competition and good weaners were specially in demand. Values ruling at Hie previous sale were ma intained. The following is a range of prices:— Weaners, small 14s, good 10s Gd to 255; slips, rough 13s, good 20s to 225: medium-sized stores, 27s lo 30s; 1 sow in pig, 425; empty sows, 26s to 3ls; light porkers, 37s to 40s; heavy porkers, 48s to 50s.

WAIKATO STOCK MARKETS

CATTLE FROM EAST COAST Ideal growing conditions were experienced in the Waikato litis week, and pastures were coming away quickly. The effects of this growth already have been reflected in the store, cattle market.

Comparatively few station-bred entile have been coming on to the market, but 500 grown steers from the East Coast were available at Morrinsville. and with a good growth of feed practically assured, it was anticipated that they would meet with a good demand.

NEW SEASON'S LAMB New season’s iamb has made its appearance iii Auckland shops in moderate quantities and is selling at the following prices: Sides. Is srt: hindquarters, Is (id; legs, Is 8d; loins. Is Cd; forequarters, Is 4d. At the same time last year all prices were Id dearer, except loins, which were the same.
