THETIS COMMANDER

DIRECTED ESCAPE WORK COAT GIVEN TO SAILOR (Reed. Sept. 29, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 28. Commander Ray, an officer who is participating in the salvage of the submarine Thetis, expressed the opinion that the commander of the vessel. Lieutenant-Commander G. H. Bolus, was obviously directing the escape operations when he died.

His body was found with shirt sleeves rolled up. He had given his jacket to a sailor, who was wearing it when his body was recovered.
