NUHAKA FAREWELL

MR. & MRS. J. W. POWDRELL STATION SURPRISE PARTY (Humid Corruspondmit.) A jolly evening was spent al Gpoho station when 100 friends ot. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Powdrell paid a surprise visit'to the homestead to bid goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Powdrell, who are leaving Nuhaka this week to take un farming at Te Puke. Members ol the Hunt Club, Collie Club, the Wniroa Tennis Club and Plunket Society ,vere present. Dancing, br ; dgc, and table tennis were indulged in, and Mrs. T. W. G. Tombleson made a presentation to Mr;. Powdrell on behalf of the Plunket Society, and another on behalf of -eighbourr, and friends. Mr. McDonald,’ Wairoa, made a presentation to Mr. and Mrs. Powdrell on behalf of the Wairoa Tennis Club. A combined presentation was made by Mrs. S. Dickie, on behalf of the limit Club and Collie Club. Gilts were also presented to the children bv Miss Ann and Master lan Dickie. 'Mr. S. Dickie, Mr. A. Hickling and others expressed their regret, on behalf of the settlers, at the departure of their host and bos'ess. Mrs. Powdrell had been a keen supporter of the Plunket Society, and they both had been great sporting enthusiasts. Mr. Powdrell suitably replied. The dance music was provided by Messrs. Clare and Jones, Wairoa.
