PERSONAL
■An engagement is announced between Trevor Leslie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Lewis, Palmerston road, and Ola Sylvia, daughter of Mrs. Whitty and the late Mr: S. Whitty, Ormond road. Dr. J. E. Staton, examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London, will hold the practical examinations of the board in Gisborne on Saturday, October 21, and the Monday following.
Mr. Ken de Montalk, formerly of Tolaga Bay, lias enlisted in Whangarei with the Special Military Force and will go into camp at Ngaruawahia next Tuesday. The Auckland enlistments include Sergeant C. P. Belton, who has been appointed to the divisional headquarters staff and will go into camp at Trenlham. Sergeant Belton was formerly a detective in the Police Force and was stationed at Gisborne.
