BERLIN VOICES REGRET
RELIEVED ENEMY GRAFT
(Reed. Sept. 28, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 27
An Amsterdam message gives further particulars of the attack, reported yesterday, by a warplane believed to be German, on a K.L.-M. air liner 'll) miles, north-west of Heligoland, with fatal results to a Swedish passenger. The Dutch plane was damaged by machine-gun fire, but landed at Amsterdam. The attack occurred at an altitude of 2400 ft.
A Berlin radio announcement admits that German aviators fired on the Dutch plane. Germany regretted the incident which, the radio explained, occurred 'because the machine closely resembled an enemy type and did not have distinguishing marks visible for a long distance.
