“HALF THE TRUTH”
GERMAN WHITE BOOK GUARANTEE TO POLAND NAZI UNEASINESS SEEN COMMENT Ti\ T LONDON (British Official Wireless.) Reed. noon. RUGBY, Sept. 2G. The publication of the German “White Book,” following closely on the British publication of all official documents relating to events leading up to the outbreak of war is interpreted here as an indication of some uneasiness by Nazi circles. The Daily Telegraph suggests that Herr Hitler is acclaimed "by nature an artist, not a politician,” but in this picture is found what it leaves out. Unable to challenge the accuracy of the British report, the Nazis are endeavouring to counter it with “half or quarter of the truth.” “It must be very grievous to Dr. Goebbels that the truth has had a start,” the comment adds. “The object of the White Book is to make it appear that Britain is responsible for the war.
“It was necessary, therefore, to make a case on the basis that the British guarantee was given before Poland lefused to submit to the Naz'. demands. The facts are, as already repeatedly stated, that Herr Hitler made demands on March 21, while the assurance of French and British support was not announced until March 31.
