COLOURFUL CEREMONIES
RATANA PA OBSEQUES STATE REPRESENTED (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. The funeral obsequies in connection with the death of Mr. Wiremu Ratana were concluded yesterday when the Maori leader was buried in front of the temple at Ratana Pa. Eight ' thousand Maoris and Europeans attended. The Government was represented by the actirrg-Prime Minister, the Hon.s P. Fraser, the Hons. P. C. Webb, and F. W. Langstone, Minister of Native Affairs. Among other members of parliament present was Sir Apirana Ngata., • , The colourful religious. service lasted over two hours.
