The Pan-Paciiic surgical congress terminated with an address by the president. Dr. Hardie Neil, on the history of early medical education in the Pacific.

Dr. Peter Buck, on behalf of the New Zealand throat surgeons, presented Dr. Chevalier Jackson with a Maori emblem of leadership. Dr. Jackson was also presented with :t boomerang by the Australian profession.

Dr. Reichert, of San Francisco, was elected as president and Dr. Dawson, of Dunedin and Dr. 11. Poate, of Sydney, a.s vice-presidents.
