Nazis To Have Warsaw CAPITAL STILL HOLDING OUT Army Chiefs To Meet In Berlin PARIS ESTIMATE OF HEAVY CASUALTIES (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 28, 11.15 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 22. A Warsaw message states that the Polish military commentator, M. Lipinski, in a broadcast stated that np to September 20 the Warsaw defenders had brought- down 87 planes. The Poles advanced several miles to the westward. He described the destruction of German tanks by soldiers leaping on to them and throwing in petrol torches. The civilian morale was excellent. Newsboys were selling papers even during the shelling of the city. The Berlin correspondent of the Associated Press says it is asserted by the Germans that the real battle for Warsaw has not yet started. The Polish defenders are still counterattacking and vainly endeavouring to break through the German lines investing the suburb of Praga. The Poles are holding out in the Gdynia area and also between the Vistula and the Bug Rivers. The Berlin correspondent of the Associated Press says that the German command permitted 1000 foreign consuls, attaches and business-men to leave Warsaw overnight by specified roads. A Budapest message says that the German troops have reached the Polish-Hungarian frontier near Lawoczne. A communique issued in Moscow claims the occupation of Pinsk as part of the final mopping-up operations in the occupied areas of Poland. The Soviet press for the first time announces that a Dneiper River war patrol entered Polish waters on Monday evening without resistance. It is officially announced in Berlin that the Russian and German Governments have agreed to a demarcation of a line between the Russian and German armies in Poland, namely along the Rivers Pissa, Narcw, Vistula and San. Germany is to take Warsaw. The Berlin representative of the British United Press says that under the agreement the San Domierni triangle in which Poland built up her armament industry, becomes German. It is stated that the Russian line includes Lublin, Luck, Lwow, Brcst-Litovsk, Bialystok and Vilna, Nazi sources in Berlin state that the preliminary details for carving up. Poland were worked out during the recent visit to Moscow by a German military mission. This mission has departed. It is expected that diplomatic negotiations will require a week. The Copenhagen correspondent of the News Chronicle says it is reported from Berlin that the Soviet War Minister, Marshal Voroshilov is going to Berlin on October 1 or 2 to meet Field-Marshal Goering and General Von Brnuehitsch, Commander-in-Chief of the German Army. The French'Ministry of Information states that in the i three weeks of warfare in Poland the German casualties were 150,000 dead and wounded. Germany also lost 900 aeroplanes and 600 pilots.
