Training honours on Randwick tracks to-day were shared by Te Hero, Feminist, Rathlin and High Caste. Beauvitc, Geebung and Wilson showed to advantage at Rosebery, while Micawber revealed real speed at Victoria Park. Te Hero worked well within himself over seven furlongs, which was covered in lmin 32i|sec. Royal Cnief strode along the tan and moved freely. He appears to be in good order again. Beau Vite’s Derby opponent Wilson ran six mrlongs in lmin 18sec, which was equalled by Beau Vite. Newcastle Cup Accident The Newcastle Cup to-day resulted: —Salazar, 7.1 (Duncan, 1; Osculum, (i. 9 (Podmore), 2; Vestal, 7.4 (Lappin), 3. Nineteen started, including Moorsotis and Housemaster. Won by a head and . three-quarters of a length. Time 2min 12sec. Young Crusader piloted the field over a mile, but weakened badly in the run home. Moorsotis, well placed throughout, was right on top of placegetters at the finish. Reiply, who was actually fourth, fell after passing the judge’s box, and brought down Goldpari and Perimond.
