Beneficial Rain
Pastures and gardens alike benefited bv the rain which fell during the week-end. The unusually prolonged spell of good weather at this season of the year was affecting growth in some parts, particularly on the hills. Sheepfarmcrs have thoroughly appreciated the ideal weather for’ lambing, although there has been a much higher mortality among lambs than was to be expected. This is possible accounted for by the eiTccl of dry* spells on the ewes, and also by weaknesses following on facial eczema.
