FRIENDSHIP RENEWED.
FIJIAN RUGBY CAPTAIN EX-WANGANUI PLAYER A school friendship, was renewed in Auckland when the visiting Fijian Rugby team was touring the N'orth Island. The captain of the Fijians, George Cakabou, while attending the Wanganui Technical College, played in the first -fifteen with Owen Rogers, later a Wanganui representative full-back. Rogers played for Technical Old Bovs in Wanganui and later went to Auckland, where he joined the Police Force and played Rugby for Marists and Grafton. While playing for the latter club Rogers suffered severe injuries and was unable to play for some time. Had he been able to play all the season he most likely would have played for the Auckland fifteen against the Fijians.
When Cakabou reached Auckland with his team he was met' by his former team-mate, the latter following* very closely the fortunes of the side led by his school-mate. After leaving Wanganui Technical College Cakabou attended Newington College, Sydney.
Rogers is a son of Constable W. Rogers, a member of the force attached to the Gisborne watch-house.
