General situation: An intense anticyclone centred in the north-west Tasman Sea is extending on to the Dominion, but weak secondary depressions continue to pass in the south.
Forecast: Winds from between south-west and. north-west but with south-west . predominating, mainly light to moderate but freshening at times. Seas: In New Zealand waters, rather rough north of Wanganui, otherwise slight to moderate but with a swell on the East Coast south of Hawke’s Bay. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong west to southwest winds and moderate to rather

Temperatures were cool all over the North "island this morning, with Auckland and Cape Maria returning 55 degrees, Gisborne 53, Opotiki and East Cape 52, Napier and Castlepoint 50, and Cape Palliscr and Wellington 49 degrees. Winds of moderate force from the south and west were general, and only at Auckland was the sky completely clouded, other stations reporting blue skies, with . passing clouds in some cases. General situation.—An anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea and New Zealand while a depression is located ever Tasmania.
