INTOXICATION CHARGE

MOTOR CYCLIST FINED OFFENCE IN OPOTIKI (Special to tho Herald.) OPOTIKI, this day. Arrested by Constable Rathie in Opotiki on Tuesday evening, a young man, Spencer David Cramp, of Otara, pleaded guilty to a charge of having been intoxicated while in charge of a motor-cycle in. John street, Opotiki. Messrs. Moody and Pipe, J.Ps., were on the bench. It was. stated by the police that. Constable Rathie was called to John street as a result of a complaint by the traffic inspector, Mr. T. Morrell, who had complained that he was having trouble "with a motor-cyclist. When the constable arrived he formed the opinion that the accused was under the influence of liquor, Cramp admitting that he had had six or seven, rums.

The accused was certified as, being unfit to be in charge of a motor-cycle. Cramp was fined .£lO and ordered to pay medical expenses. His license was cancelled, and he was prohibited from obtaining another for 12 months.
