Flowering shrubs, specially magnolias, were spoilt, too. The meteorological observer at the Gisborne aerodrome recorded . a frost of 8.3 which is the sharpest frost Gisborne has experienced since August 7. Orehardists on the Gisborne fiats report that the frost was only light there. Although early potatoes were affected slightly, the fruit trees suffered no damage.
