ADVANCE FULLY 3/SHEER PRICES RECEDE WESTFIELD MARKET (Fnr Pr«s4 Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A heavier beef entry, with a sprinkling of first-class quality, made increased rates at the Westfield stock sale yesterday, levels rising by about 3s per 1001 b.
Extra choice ox beef made -tils per 1001 b., choice and prime -13 s to 455: prime cow and heifer beef 40s to 42s boner and rough 33s to 3(is.
Extra heavy prime steers made from £l7 10s to £2l, heavy £ls 10s to £lO 10s, medium £l4 to £ls, light £l2 5s to £l3 10s, unfinished £5 10s to £ll 10s; extra heavy prime cows and heifers £l3 to £l4 17s Gd. heavy £lO 10s to -£l2 15s, medium £8 10s to £9 10s. light £5 10s to £7 10s. An average veal entry, mostly small calves, saw prime quality make higher rates. Others sold steadily. Runners made from £G to £ll 12s 6d: heavy vealers £7 10s to £8 15s, medium £6 to £7 2s, light. £4 15s to £5 14s, small £3 10s to £4 10s. smaller 18s to £3 ss, bobby and rough 2-'- to 38s. Values generally were lower for an increased pig yarding. Choppers made from £1 to £4; heavy baconers £4 4s ,to £4 9s, medium £3 12s to £3 18s. light £3. 2s to £3 8s: heavy porkers £2 13s to £2 16s, medium £2 Gs to £2 10s, light £1 18s to £2 2s; stores £1 6s to £1 15s, slips £1 2s to £1 6s, weaners 10s to 21s. Baconers averaged 6.id to 6Jd per lb., and porkers 6id •to 7d per lb. Values for a larger sheep entry cased on the last sale. Extra heavy wethers made from £1 19s to £2 2s Gd, heavy £1 16s to £1 18s 9d, medium £1 13s to £1 15s 9d, light £1 8s to £1 12s 6d, unfinished 20s to 27s 9d; shorn, wethers 20s to 28s.
Lambs in average numbers sold at late raes, jrrime sorts making 17s to 29s Gd and others 8s to 16s.
