MANAWATU VOLUNTEERS
MAJORITY TRAINED (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. A further 96 recruits came forward yesterday for the special military force in area 68, for which Palmerston North is the headquarters, 'bringing the total to 326 at 9 o’clock last night. About three-quarters of those who have been enrolled are either serving with the territorials or have had previous training. Medical examinations are to begin on Friday. CANTERBURY RESPONSE (Per Press Association.) • CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The total enlistments in Christchurch for the special military force is now 605. SOUTHLAND FIGURES (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. The Southland recruiting for the special military .force for the two days reached the total of 319.
