MODIFICATION OF BILL
TRANSPORT AMENDMENTS
(Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. As a result of consultations with representatives of the National Party, the Transport Law Amendment Bill Ls to be substantially modified when it comes before the House of Representatives to-day for its second reading/ , , Atlhough the clauses relating to road safety are retained, the Minister of Transport, the Horn R. Semple has agreed to eliminate points of conteniion. Therefore, the proposal for the registration of bicycles will be deleted. It is not intended to go on with the change in the method of issuing drivers, licenses. The present system under which the local authorities will issue these licenses and retain the fees will be continued. _____
