MOTOR TRANSPORT PLAN

Appreciation of tile generous and loyal offers made by the road transport operators throughout New Zealand since the declaration of war, was expressed on behalf of the Government by the Minister ot Transport, the Hon. if. Semple. The Minister said that full and careful consideration had been given to the organisation of road transport. This was being brought up to its highest point of efficiency to enable the productive capacity ot the country to be maintained. “I have been in consultation with the leaders of various branches of ilie road transport industry,” said Mr. Semple, "and a comprehensive plan covering all forms of public motor transport has been worked out. Full details will be announced shortly. I realise that many road operators arc anxious to improve the general efficiency of their industry, but I would ask them to refrain from taking anv action until an announcement of the Government's plans has bec-n made.”
