MOTORISED FORCES

TWO ARMS SOUTH THRUST BY GERMANS CHECKING POLISH MOVES COMM AN DER S CAI >T UR E D (Eleo. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 12, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 10.

The correspondent of the New York Times at Berlin says that German motorised forces from the north have thrust two arms southward almost to the Vistula River, near Wlocawek and Plock. Mopping-up operations have begun in the south against the Polish troops caught around Radom. The eapturers of Loclz are presumably continuing northward to meet the Plock spearhead.

Tanks and motorised columns are reported to be heavily fighting the Poles in the Kutno-Skiermiewice-Sochaczevv sector between Lodz and the Vistula. The Polish retreat south of Warsaw is reported to be cut off. Another message from Berlin says ft is officially stated that the commanders of the third, seventh and nineteenth Polish divisions were taken prisoner.

The Lwow radio station announced that heavy fighting is in progress in the Ostrowmazowiecki region and along the Bug River. Fighting is being continued west of Skala.

Enemy air attacks occurred throughout the country, but a noticeably weaker scream of air raid warnings and the drone of bombers was heard over the radio.
