HOCKEY MANAGEMENT

CHAMPIONSHIPS CLOSED BILCLIFFE CUP GAME TOWN V. COUNTRY TEAMS The management committee of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association last night declared the competitions matches closed, awarding the men’s championship to Y.M.C.A., and the women’s to Hinenui.

As a compliment to the splendid record achieved by the Muriwai team in tlie men's B grade, it was decided to play it against the Y.M.C.A. team in the A grade, the match to have no bearing on the championship, which already was awarded to Y.M.C.A. It was agreed that the match for the Bilelifi'e Cup between town and country women’s teams should be played on Saturday, while a further fixture would be a game between men’s teams representing the married and single players.
