ATTACK ON GIRL
INTRUDER IN BEDROOM Brutally assaulted by an unidentified man who gained entrance through her bedroom window at her parents’ home at Makaka, Te Aroha, a 15-year-old girl had a terrifying experience shortly after midnight on Tuesday. The girl, who was in bed, was attacked with a blunt instrument, and she suffered a serious scalp wound. •Her screams awakened her parents, who ran into the room. The intruder, however, escaped without being recognised. The police were immediately summoned, but a two-hour search revealed no trace of the man.
