FEARS OF DISINTEGRATION

FRENCH INTERPRETATION SPEECH BY GOER INC (Reed. Sept. 11, 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, Sept. 10. The French Ministry of Information says: “Field-Marshal Goering’s warning to workers to prepare for siege and privation shows that he apparently fears such a condition might tend towards infernal disintegration.

“For the first time in history, a statesman Iras asked sacrifices from his people, not for the defence of their country or an ideal, but to conquer another’s goods. FieldMarshal Goering insults Poland by describing her as a plunderer— Poland who was thrice partitioned by Prussia and was attacked on the present occasion without an ultimatum.”

Field-Marshal Goering’s speech was broadcast in several languages, a special appeal being made to America, urging Americans to no longer sympathise with Britain, who willingly sank the Athenia with hundreds of Americans aboard.
