MIRACULOUS ESCAPE

FALL OVER 80FT. CLIFF BROTHER AND SISTER HURT (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. A miraculous escape from death was experienced by a brother and sister when they fell' down, an 80ft. cliff near Hastings yesterday afternoon. Neither suffered serious injury. ..-The victims were: — Miss Margaret Tacon, aged 20; back injuries and abrasions and shock. Richard Tacon, aged 22, abrasions and shock.

With members of a tramping party, Miss and Mr. Tacon were walking near the top of a precipice when Miss Tacon slipped. Her brother made a desperate effort to save her, grasping one arrri, but he was pulled over the edge. Both fell down an almost sheer drop to the stony ground beneath. The girl was carried out on an improvised stretcher and both were taken subsequently to the -Memorial Hospital in Hastings.
