MATCHES WITH WAIROA

COLTS’ TEAM TO TRAVEL Always a fixture which creates wide interest, a representative Rugby match is to be played at the Oval next Saturday between the Poverty Bay and Wairoa fifteens. The teams have met twice this season and each has scored one victory. This will be a “needle” match, as victory to either team will give the particular union the honours for the season.

On the same day as the senior team plays in Gisborne the Povelty Bay colts will play the Wairoa colts in Wairoa, the following team being announced to represent Poverty Bay: Backs, T. Moug'han (Marist), Jack Short (H. 5.0.8.), J. Moore (Waikohu). M. Smiler (Marist), R. McKinley (Celtic), J. Sargisson (Motu); forwards, J. Baker (Celtic), P. Livingstone (Old Boys), W. Bright (Marist), W. Tibbie (Marist), C. Hayes (Old Boys), T. McGuffie (11.5.0.8.), captain, C. Gardiner (H. 5.0.8.), R. Francis (H. 5.0.8.); emergencies, W. Smiler (Marist) and M.
