SURVIVORS OF DISASTER
DOMINION PASSENGERS TORPEDOED LINER (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. An Auckland woman, Mrs. C. Tomlinson, Victoria avenue, Remuera, was among the passengers missing from the torpedoed British liner Athenia. It was believed, however, that she had been landed at Glasgow, according to a cablegram dispatched by her husband from Galway, which lie himself reached safely. A cable message received late yesterday afternoon by Misses P. and R. Whitton, New Plymouth, said that Mrs. Tomlinson, Auckland, had landed safely at Glasgow. Mrs. Tomlinson, who was formerly Miss M. J. WhiUon, New Plymouth, was returning with her husband to New Zealand after a tour of the Continent. A former Aucklander and his Australian wife, Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Porter, have been reported safe. Mr. Porter’s parents at Devonport received a cablegram from Galway yesterday containing the words “Both saved,” and the signature.
